Client Goal

Increase awareness and grow online and in store sales for statewide retail stores.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board operates more than 600 retail stores. To drive traffic the PLCB wanted to offer their customers new, interesting, and creative ways to think about making the variety of wines and spirits available to them part of their festivities, events, and gatherings.

The Work

To meet the goal, Savvy created an earned media strategy and to get the word out compiled a comprehensive media contact list targeting food, drink, entertainment and lifestyle writers, editors, reporters, producers, show hosts and on- air personalities within the Western Pennsylvania region.

The Savvy Team pitches approved content surrounding holidays, events, and other relevant topics and match different cocktail and food pairings with wines and spirits to demonstrate the versatility of the products and help customers with planning their entertaining, dining, and special occasions.

The Result

Savvy developed ongoing working relationships with many of the top broadcast, print, online and social media influencers in the region.  The Savvy team follows up with key contacts to keep Fine Wines & Good Spirits top of mind and ensure that the latest news and information is in the hands of the media and public.

Additionally, the Savvy PR team established a monthly television segment on KDKA-TV (a CBS Affiliate) featuring a live interactive interview with a FW&GS wine and spirits expert in preparing cocktails, suggesting seasonal recipes for the perfect gathering with family and friends.  The segment airs on KDKA during the popular Pittsburgh Today Live regional morning show and can be found on the cbs.com website.
